Bloomberg Businessweek’s 2016 “Best Undergraduate Business Schools” Employer Survey ranks John Carroll University’s John M. and Mary Jo Boler School of Business #1 in the nation. The Boler College is ranked #30 overall in the country. Bloomberg Businessweek surveyed nearly 30,000 students and recruiters at almost 600 companies. The employer survey measures recruiter opinions on how well undergraduate programs prepare students for careers at their companies.
“This ranking is great news, highlighting that employers view our graduates as exceptional,” said Alan Miciak, Ph.D., dean of the Boler College of Business at John Carroll. “It demonstrates that our outstanding faculty support and curriculum, combined with business partnerships and internships, prepare John Carroll graduates to compete, lead, and succeed throughout the U.S.”
One way the Boler College prepares its students to succeed after graduation is through the exclusive , a four-year program dedicated to providing students with step-by-step career-building experiences.
After a very successful 2017/2018 programming schedule featuring Operational Excellence as the theme, the programming committee announced that the theme for 2018/2019 will be Innovation. Rob Felber and Andrew Conners, co-chairs of the committee, felt that innovation is something that is very relevant to every EA member to sustain growth for the long term.
The committee also announced that Jeffrey Stamp, founder and chief storyteller at Bold Thinking, LLC, will be the speaker for the opening dinner on October 1st. Dr. Jeffrey Stamp has over 25 years of world-wide experience in bringing out the creative best in business professionals and university students. You will recognize Dr. Stamp by the products he has created while in corporate life. He was the inventor, creator, and section manager of “Baked Lays”, for PepsiCo’s snack division, Frito-Lay, which achieved $230 million in first-year sales and was named by Ernst and Young as the top brand introduction in the 90’s for the food sector.
The committee also announced that Laura Sheridan will be the featured speaker at the October 30th breakfast meeting. Laura is president of Viva La Brand, a consulting resource for passionate business leaders who want to more effectively use their marketing efforts to catapult sales and maximize profitability. Laura has also served as Director of Advertising and Creative Director for Progressive Insurance and Advertising Manager for Polaroid.
The EA Holiday Party will be held on December 5th in the atrium of the Dolan Science Center on the campus of John Carroll University.

The Edwin M. Muldoon Center for Entrepreneurship, the hub for everything Entrepreneurial at John Carroll University, has added Cat Stover to its staff as it continues to grow to better serve the university and the community.
Doan Winkel, Director of the Muldoon Center and the Kahl Chair in Entrepreneurship, announced that Cat is be joining the Muldoon Center from her current position as administrating assistant in the Econ/Finance department at JCU. Doan said, “Cat brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and we are very excited that she is joining the Muldoon Center.” Cat has an MBA with a concentration in Management Information Systems and previously worked for Accenture/Anderson Consulting for 10 years.
Cat joins the Muldoon team of Doan, Kahl Chair and Director of the Muldoon Center, Jackie Schmidt, Academic Director of the Entrepreneurship programs & Director of the Entrepreneurship Minor and Tom Bonda, Director of the EA & Program Manager of LaunchNET.
